IAN WATSON

After 35 years in general practice in Te Aroha (in partnership as Gilchrist Burns) and Hamilton East (in sole practice as Lawrence Cables Law Practice), I have a deep and broad appreciation of how to apply the law in meeting the needs of both individuals and business owners. I have enjoyed general practice and not specialized as I love dealing with people and helping them improve their lives.

I have the experience of dealing with thousands of transactions all with their own issues and I have the technical ability in dealing with land title issues, negotiation and meeting deadlines to get you the results you want. You can expect personal service with attention to detail in a timely manner and to this end, I have the support of my qualified Legal Executive, Jane Cullinane.

In re-establishing (yes,we had a branch in Whangamata the early 1980's) a general practice here in Tairua and the eastern Coromandel, I bring a fresh face and solid experience to the needs of my clients.

I have also identified a growing new demand for clients needing legal advice and practical support in passing over the reigns of their businesses and farming enterprises to the next generation as we baby boomers reach that time of life when its perhaps appropriate to think about stepping back.

I look forward to bringing to Tairua, Whangamata and Whitianga my skill set and the experience I have gained working with families and firms throughout the Waikato.

JANE CULLINANE

I gained my Legal Executive qualifications at the Auckland Institute of Technology many years ago while working at Russell McVeagh in Auckland, and have since worked in conveyancing, wills and trusts and in estates both there and in Hamilton and the wider Waikato.

My love of travel has seen me working in Sydney and Brisbane law firms, and further afield at Richards Butler in London before settling for some time in Hong Kong and working in both conveyancing and litigation areas there.

After returning to New Zealand and working at Norris Ward McKinnon in Hamilton as their Wills & Trust Executive, I worked part time in Whangamata as a legal executive and now at Ian Watson Legal in Tairua.

Back in a conveyancing position, I’m looking forward to developing a solid connection with the people in the Coromandel area.
